Finding What and Where You Love To Eat in Rochester

Are you tired of eating at the same restaurants when you go out? Want some new hot spots to go to with your friends and enjoy a great meal? Here are five of my favorite places to go as a native of Rochester!

  1. Dinosaur Bar-B-Que

This classic Rochester restaurant is great if you want some tasty barbeque that you won’t be able to get enough of. From baby back ribs to fried green tomatoes, Dinosaur has a variety of food that you just don’t see every day. It’s delicious and above all else, it is quality food that will have you coming back for more.

  1. DiBella’s Old-Fashioned Submarines

If you’re looking for a casual spot where you can chill and be well fed, head over to DiBella’s! They have amazing subs with fresh ingredients and freshly baked bread that you can smell as soon as you walk in the door. It has a great fifties vibe that attests to the tradition of the food and homemade recipes passed down over the years. They also have Grandma’s cookies that are always super gooey and delicious for a possible side option!

  1. Jine’s Restaurant

Located right on Park Ave in the city, Jine’s is a great breakfast and lunch spot! It’s diner food but better. They have great omelets, pancakes, grits, and every other breakfast option you can think of. They’re big on brunch, so head out there on a Saturday or Sunday because it’s totally worth it. Sandwiches, Italian and Greek cuisine, dinner salads and more await you at this quaint joint. You know it’s good when there’s a line out the door for food in the morning!

  1. Napa Wood Fired Pizzeria

Everything I have eaten here has always been amazing. My family and I always share a new appetizer to start and then we each order a different pizza. You can go traditional with a Margherita or be a little more daring with barbeque chicken or the Parma, which has artichokes, figs, and prosciutto on it! It’s all thin crust pizza that has great flavor from the wood fire grill it’s cooked in and they have great gluten-free options. If you’ve never been to Rochester before coming to Nazareth, this would be one of the first places I would recommend for great pizza.

  1. Sakura Home

Not looking to travel too far from campus for sushi or hibachi? Sakura Home is the perfect stop for quality rolls, flavors and ingredients. They have a great selection to choose from and you can watch them prepare your meal right in front of you! My favorites are the Angry Dragon and Rainbow rolls but there are so many other ones to choose from that are delicious as well. The venue has a great ambiance and really makes you feel relaxed and attached to Japanese culture.

Try someplace new that you might not normally go to. Rochester has such a variety of different restaurants with diverse cuisine that attract great customers from all over the city. Be one of those customers and find a new favorite food stop for you and your friends!
