At Friday night’s art receptions in the Arts Center Gallery and the Colacino Gallery, artists and admirers wore their best, and came together to share in the talents of our undergraduate and graduate students. Of course the food was great, but the artists’ work was simply stellar. I had the pleasure of speaking with some of the artists about their work, and I even got a photo of undergraduate artist Amanda Riekskins with one of her three pieces, Cookbook Cover Designs — a digital graphic design.
At 6:00pm there was an awards ceremony recognizing the artists’ achievements and many of the pieces were purchased for the school or the personal collections of professors and Rochester community members. The pieces ranged from photography to sculptures, from paintings to digital design. To my surprise, as I made my way to the Colacino Gallery to see the graduate show, the Art Education department also had work on display in the hallways. Overall, the night was an exceptional, artistic success that I was honored to have attended.
Here are some other photos that I took of the night!
