It’s that time of year again. Nazareth Colleges Against Cancer (CAC) and the American Cancer Society are sponsoring their annual Relay for Life on Friday April 17th from 7pm to 1am, in the Shults gymnasium. Registration begins at 6 pm.

So what is Relay? It’s a nation-wide fundraiser that consists of fun for all ages. “Relayers” walk laps and participate in games, while donating to a great cause.   It is CAC’s biggest event of the year, and so far 24 teams and 204 participants have raised $5,540. To register for a team, create a team, or walk as an individual, go to www.relayforlife.org/nazarethcollegeny. The registration fee is a donation of $20, which benefits the American Cancer Society.

This years Relay is superhero themed, so wear your capes! Musical performances include Fermata Thin Air and Call for Backup, and special guest Lynne Boucher will be leading a yoga session. For any Frisbee enthusiasts, KanJam will be amongst the fundraiser games. Pizza and drinks will also be available.

T-shirts are available prior to the event on Friday April 10th and Monday April 13th in the Shults Center from 11:30 am to 1 pm for $10, along with luminaire bags to honor loved ones for $5. The bags are used during the remembrance ceremony at the Relay. This years shirts are gray with “I fight cancer” written in black on the front, with “i can” highlighted in purple. The back reads “Nazareth College Relay for Life 2015”. Watch for an email from CAC with additional times and locations for sales.

CAC is still looking for volunteers to help out at the event. If interested, please email collegesagainstcancer@mail.naz.edu.
