A Singleton’s Guide to Valentine’s Day

For someone who is single, Valentine’s Day can be a bummer–but only if you allow it to be. While your friends are with their significant others, there are various things you can do for yourself, by yourself, or with other single friends. Keep reading to learn more.

Take Advantage of Business’ Valentine’s Day Promotions

Many establishments are having promotions or simply giving things out for free to those who are single. Hooters is giving out 10 boneless chicken wings for free, as long as you hand them a photo of your ex-partner to be destroyed in the Valentine’s Day shredder. If you want to stay in, you can upload the photo of your ex to be shredded and receive an emailed coupon for free wings. I know I would take free chicken wings over a boyfriend any day. There are also Valentine’s Day freebies for singles at Moe’s, Auntie Anne’s, and Chick-Fil-A.

Focus on the Relationship With Yourself!

Self-love is always important whether you are in a relationship or not. This can be a good time to do things such as making a list of accomplishments you are proud of, and goals you want to accomplish in the future. Also, you can pamper yourself by getting a mani-pedi, facial, massage, or just doing your own face mask at home while you binge your favorite Netflix series.

Bond with Friends Who are in the Same Boat as You

Although it may seem like you are alone on Valentine’s Day, you most likely have at least a couple of friends who don’t have significant others either. Hang out with them! Do some of the other activities on the list, or do something that couples would normally do together. Go out for dinner, see a movie, or just hang out and chat! Having friends that you love be with you on Valentine’s Day makes it a much more bearable holiday when you are single.
