Current UA Position: Senator of class of 2016

Do you have prior experience as an official?

Vice President of  Student Body in High School  and Current RA

Position Running For: UA President

Why are you running for this position?

I believe I have more to offer then just being a Senator; I have been a senator for three years and I’ve been on the Student Affairs committee which is overseen by the President, and I have seen changes occur under three different Presidents.  I believe with not only my position in senate but also with being  involved as a leader in variety of different positions with diverse people with different concerns, I can come in to this position with my passion and goals to benefit the entire campus.

What do you hope to accomplish at this position during the 2015/2016 year?

I want to bring about a more transparent Government to really get more students involved. I have many specific goals that I would further discuss if elected with my E-Board but just a couple examples include; an open senate meeting and open class officer meetings. Not only do I want people to understand the process so they could potentially get further involved and understand what they are getting involved in, but also I want students to understand who it is that is representing them.

If you could improve anything on campus, regardless of what it would take, what would it be and why?

I believe a greater connectedness with the entire Undergrad Association would be to truly connect all the departments more. I don’t think there is a tremendous amount of segregation but it is there and it further contributes to people that may not have friends involved in student government not knowing what senate is or who to go to in order to get change to occur.

What is your favorite and least favorite thing about college? Explain:

My favorite thing about college, specifically Nazareth, is the ability to be involved and feel connected to your whole school students and faculty because it is such a small school. My least favorite thing about college is papers because I dislike writing papers on assigned topics and being graded on it.

Why do you think it’s important for students to participate in the UA or other campus activities?

I think it is important for people to participate in the UA and other campus activities because it allows for them to further gain leadership experience, I also believe it is a great way to bring about a passion you have in you to make change occur. As with all leadership positions it also helps with many other factors such as management and organization skills.

Are there any new initiatives or programs you are looking to introduce?

There are many goals I have running for this positions that require specific initiatives and programs to successfully accomplish these goals. A couple goals were stated before in order to allow for the more assessable student government that represents the student body. Another goal I have is to truly bring about activities more, as CAB has been doing very well at this past year that truly reach the entire student body.

Definitely Rachel McAdams

An Eagle

What is your dream job and why?
