Women’s Soccer Wins Eighth Straight Game on Senior Day

ROCHESTER, NY – On October 22nd the Nazareth Women’s Soccer team took the field on Senior Day in hopes to improve their seven game win streak against Carnegie Mellon. Seniors Jessica Barden, Michaela Soules, Lauren Goodell, Jaclyn Stryker, and Brayden Dobles were honored prior to the game for their hard work, and dedication over the last four years.

The Golden Flyers, battled in the first half against Carnegie Mellon’s physical play, and came out scoreless at the end of the first half, with the score 0-0.

Senior, Michaela Soules came out in the second half and crossed a long ball from the left side into the box, where Laura Herman gracefully finished putting the Golden Flyers on top 1-0. Laura Herman’s goal came just four minutes into the second half, setting the tone early for the Flyers.

The score remained 1-0 Nazareth for the rest of the competition. Senior goalie, Braden Dobles had a tremendous game, saving 11 of 11 shots taken. Braden now has a save percentage of 0.946 on the season.

Nazareth advances to an overall 12-2-2 and conference 6-1-0, while Carnegie Mellon falls to an overall 9-4-1 and conference 3-0-1 rank. Nazareth will be home Wednesday October 26th at 4pm in conference play against Houghton College.
